The Glass Menagerie-2010

The action of The Glass Menagerie centers on the desires, hopes and dreams of the Wingfield family. Each character, deeply engrossed in his or her fantasy world, provides insight into our own lives. We each have dreams, but at what cost are we willing to succumb to them? Through this prism, Rose of Athens Theatre invites you to examine and celebrate the human condition.

The Glass Menagerie cast includes performances by professional actress and UGA professor Kristin Kundert-Gibbs as Amanda Wingfield, New York City based Jens Rasmussen as Tom Wingfield, Core Member Becca Woolbright as Laura Wingfield and Atlanta based actor Patrick Nesbit as Jim O’Connor. Athens musical artist, Bart King, most recently working with Rose of Athens Theatre as composer for Truman Capote’s Holiday Memories, will both create and perform his original musical compositions. Milan Anich designs the set, Rich Dunham designs lights, Tonya Gergely designs costumes and Vicky Moody designs properties.

School performances for The Glass Menagerie are March 24, 25 and 26 at 10:00 AM and public performances are March 26 and 27 at 7:00 PM at Seney-Stovall Chapel on North Milledge Avenue in Athens. Ticket prices are $15 and $10 for students and those 25 years and younger. For group rates and school group rates, please contact Danielle Bailey Miller at danielle@roseofathens.org
